Private schools for students with IEPs in the OKC metro, and how LNH pays

OSDE's September 2026 approved list includes 57 private schools in Oklahoma, Cleveland and Canadian counties. Here is who qualifies for LNH, how the money moves and how it combines with the tax credit.

Which OKC private schools accept the LNH scholarship?

57 schools in the three counties are on OSDE's approved list dated September 24, 2026. Approval means OSDE reviewed the school's accreditation, fiscal soundness and services for students with disabilities; it does not mean every school can serve every need, so ask about capacity.

Does my child need an IEP to qualify?

An IEP or a finding of IDEA eligibility is the most common route, but OSDE also lists students with a DHS service plan, children of service members on PCS orders, students from DHS or OJA placements or adopted from DHS custody, and students at schools for homeless students.

What does LNH cover that the tax credit does not?

LNH can pay for special education programs the school offers and for tutoring, therapies or a one-on-one aide tied to the student's disability. The tax credit covers tuition and fees only.

What should parents ask before enrolling with LNH?

Ask for a written description of the supports the school will provide. OSDE's guidance says the department is not responsible for extra special education costs a private school incurs beyond the scholarship, so the school decides what it can offer.
