Relocating to the OKC metro? Private schools by area, with funding

New arrivals are often surprised that Oklahoma funds private school for every income level. Here is what to know about timing, residency and the military rule.

Last verified: October 2026. Program rules change; confirm with the agency named on each page.

Can a family new to Oklahoma get the tax credit right away?

The student must be an Oklahoma resident eligible to enroll in public school, and the application window is fixed each spring. A family arriving after June 15 generally waits for the next March window.

Is there a faster route for military families at Tinker?

Yes, for one program. A child of a service member who transfers to an Oklahoma school on permanent change of station orders is eligible for the Lindsey Nicole Henry scholarship at an approved school, and its application runs on a different calendar from the tax credit.

Where are the private schools?

Nine community pages, from Edmond to Norman and Yukon, list every school in this directory with grades, affiliation and state program status.
