Which accreditors count for Oklahoma's school-choice programs

Both the tax credit and LNH require accreditation. OSDE's September 1, 2026 list names the associations the State Board of Education approves.

Last verified: October 2026. Program rules change; confirm with the agency named on each page.

Why does accreditation matter for OKC schools?

Accreditation is the gate for both state programs: the Tax Commission only pays credits at accredited private schools, and OSDE only approves accredited schools for LNH.

Which associations are on the State Board's approved list?

AACS, AMS, APPLE, ACSI, ACTS, ACCS, Beacon Education Institute, Christian Schools International, Cognia, ISAS, ICAA, MSA-CESS, the National Christian School Association, National Lutheran School Accreditation, the Oklahoma Conference of Catholic Schools Accreditation Association, the Oklahoma Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools and OSDE itself.

Is membership in an association the same as accreditation?

No. The federal survey records association memberships, and a membership is not proof of accreditation. Schools register on OkTAP with proof of accreditation, which is why this site uses the Tax Commission's list as the participation flag.
